Applying your vinyl sign or decal is very easy if you follow a few simple steps. This is one time you will want to read the instructions and your new sign will last for many years! (see our easy removal instructions, too)
*For best results apply vinyl in temperatures between 45-85 degrees. For larger signs, see instructions for larger signs.
Clean the area you want to apply your vinyl thoroughly. Rubbing alcohol or soap and water work great. Do not skip this step or your vinyl will peel off sooner than you want.
*Do not use Windex or any other household cleaners because they leave behind a residue behind that will prevent the sticker from adhering. Ideally, if you have an empty spray bottle, put ONE drop of dish detergent in and fill it up. (avoid all the suds and fill first, then put your ONE drop of soap in…)
Prepare the sticker by firmly rubbing a squeegee or credit card across the clear transfer tape to remove air bubbles that may have formed in transit. This will help your application go much smoother. (pun intended :))
Peel the paper backing off your vinyl sign or decal. If any part of the vinyl sticks to the backing, slowly replace the backing and repeat Step 2.
Slowly place the sticker onto the clean surface and rub it in place firmly with a squeegee or credit card on the transfer tape. For best results, wait 12-24 hours before Step 5. The larger your decal or sign, the longer you should wait. This gives the adhesive time to activate and makes peeling the transfer tape off easier.
Slowly peel the clear transfer tape off at an angle being careful not to pull the vinyl off your surface. If vinyl pulls away from your surface or sticks to the transfer tape, back up and repeat Step 4.
Once you have fully pulled off the transfer tape off carefully smooth down all edges with your squeegee or credit card. Use a pin to poke any air bubbles in the center and push the air out through the hole.
You’re done! Your decal should last for many years, but can also easily be removed. See How To Remove Your Vinyl Decal>>
